about the materials:
All metal I use is fabricated in the USA from recycled materials.
14k gold fill is an affordable alternative to solid 14k gold. It is 99.9% hypoallergenic, and is nickel-free. Gold-filled is composed of two layers - a core of jeweler’s brass bonded to a thick surface of 14k gold. Unlike plated, electroplated, or "dipped" metals, gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% gold in comparison to less than 1% in other methods. It is easy to care for and will usually maintain its golden shine for a lifetime. It is safe to expose to water, but should be kept from harsh chemicals.
Occasionally clean with soap and water. That’s it!
Sterling silver is composed of 92.5% pure silver bonded with an alloy (nickel-free). It will occasionally require a polish, but the best way to keep silver pieces from tarnishing is to wear them - your natural skin oils help to clean it!
That being said, everyone has a different skin acidity (PH balance). Some people's PH will not react well with sterling silver or gold filled materials, though this is extremely rare. If you have a problem with either material, let me know and I will arrange a refund.
life & repairs:
each piece is carefully hand crafted to ensure strength in construction and a long wearing life. however, should your necklace break from a defect in material within the first year of ownership, I will replace it free of charge after the broken piece is returned. I know my pieces are well-made, but they aren't indestructible. sometimes things just wear out. if that is the case after one year, the fee for a repair is $15 to cover shipping and repair material.
